We need volunteers!

Check out our new volunteer website!

To become a volunteer, please sign in or create an account using the link above. After creating an account, you will receive a message that your account is 'awaiting activation' and is 'currently under review'. The Volunteer Coordinator will contact you within one week to set up an orientation. After you attend a short orientation, restrictions on your account will be removed and you will be able to sign up for all opportunities. We recommend using the calendar button on the right side of the page to see all shifts available.

If you have any questions, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Ariana Ochoa at ariana@ivfoodbank.org or 760-370-0966.

There are two volunteer options:

  • Warehouse: There are three volunteer shifts each day that are two hours long. Volunteers work in the warehouse packing food in boxes and bags.

  • Food Distribution: Volunteers meet us in various locations throughout the county to distribute food.

Reminders

  • Every volunteer, individual and group, must be signed up for the shift. Walk-in volunteers are not permitted.

  • Volunteers are required to meet with the Volunteer Coordinator in-person for a short orientation before volunteering.

  • This work requires standing and lifting. Distribution shifts are outdoors and may be in extremely hot temperatures.

  • Volunteers must be 18 years old or older.

  • Volunteers must wear clothing that covers their legs and closed-toed shoes.

  • Food and drink are not provided. The food in the warehouse is not for volunteer consumption.

  • We do not accept court-ordered volunteers who have committed violent crimes. If you need an official court letter for a nonviolent crime, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.

  • For groups more than 10 or corporate/business groups, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
