Volunteer

Volunteers are paramount to the success of the Imperial Valley Food Bank (IVFB). Call us at 760-370-0966 to register for one of our Volunteer Teams and schedule a time to volunteer. We will add you to our e-mail list or give you a call when special opportunities arise.

Here are a few ways YOU can help:

Mobile Food Pantry: The Mobile Food Pantry will make stops in the rural areas of the county, such as Winterhaven, Ocotillo, Seeley, Calipatria, Niland, Westmoreland, Bombay, and the Salton Sea area.  Volunteers are needed to help distribute food at these sites. Training is required. Please call 760-370-0966 and speak with Alba Sanchez.

In-House: The Imperial Valley Food Bank has various needs for volunteers during weekdays. Volunteer opportunities range from bagging food to helping with mailings or preparing materials for nutrition education programs. For those that don't mind physical work, there is always volunteer opportunities available in the warehouse. Please call the food bank for more information. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Every Wednesday 9 A.M.-11 A.M. assisting with the backpack program. Volunteers needed mid-September to June.
  • The second Friday of every month 9 A.M. - 11 A.M. assisting with the Box of Basics program. 
  • Volunteers needed for the Mobile Food Pantry Distributions:

​-​The second and third Tuesday of every month 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M.

-Winterhaven- First Wednesday of every month - 7:30 A.M. to 12:00 P.M.

-Bombay Beach- Second Tuesday of every month- 7:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
